Private Tutoring
I have been an educator in some form or fashion for my entire adult life. My career has taken me to every corner of education: directing a social justice and environmentally themed library for young change-makers in the Bay Area, nurturing babies and supporting families as a nanny, running nonprofit literacy programs, and teaching reading in public schools. I have a passion for children’s literature, and get psyched watching kids- especially the resistant ones!- develop a love for reading.
I bring this background to my tutoring, helping struggling readers and writers flourish. I have particular experience with English language learners and students with learning differences, and I also enjoy working with adult learners, refugees new to our country or those who need extra reading support.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development from Tufts University, and a Master’s degree in Social Justice Issues in Education from San Francisco State University. I am currently a licensed teacher for English language learners, and live in Ashfield, Massachusetts with my partner and dog, where we enjoy the great outdoors.
